Terms of Service {#terms-of-service}

1. Agreement to Terms

By placing an order on chargingsolar.org, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't place an order.

2. What We Sell

Charging Solar sells solar and battery storage system components — panels, inverter, battery, combiner box, cabling, connectors, and mounting hardware — as a complete, shippable kit. We do not provide installation services. Installation is arranged separately through independent, licensed local installers, as described on our How Installation Works page. Charging Solar is not a party to any agreement between you and your chosen installer.

3. Orders and Production Timeline

Your system is built to order and typically ships within 8–10 weeks of purchase. This is an estimate, not a guarantee — production and shipping timelines can be affected by manufacturing, customs, and freight conditions outside our control. We'll provide status updates after your order is placed.

4. Pricing

All prices are listed in [USD for U.S. orders / CAD for Canadian orders — confirm currency handling] and do not include installation, permitting fees, applicable sales tax, or (for Canadian orders) customs duties and import taxes unless otherwise stated at checkout.

5. Cancellations and Refunds

Orders may be canceled for a full refund within 3 days of purchase.
Once production has begun, orders may be subject to a cancellation fee of 10% to cover incurred manufacturing costs.
Once a system has shipped, returns are not accepted. Missing components can be replaced under warranty.
Refunds, where applicable, will be issued to the original payment method within 7-10 business days.

6. Financing

If you choose to finance your purchase through Shop Pay Installments, that financing agreement is between you and Affirm (Shop Pay's financing partner), not Charging Solar. We do not determine your approval, interest rate, or repayment terms. See Shop Pay's own terms for details.

7. Warranty

Your system is covered by our 1-year component warranty as described on our Warranty page. Installation workmanship is covered separately by your installer, not by Charging Solar.

8. Your Responsibilities

You're responsible for: providing accurate shipping and site information, ensuring appropriate access for delivery, arranging a licensed installer, and obtaining any required permits and inspections (typically coordinated through your installer). Charging Solar is not responsible for delays or issues arising from inaccurate information you provide, permitting delays, or installer scheduling.

9. Limitation of Liability

(a) Cap on Liability. Except for a party's indemnification obligations, breach of confidentiality, or gross negligence, neither party's total aggregate liability arising out of or related to this agreement, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, shall exceed $10,000.

(b) Exclusion of Consequential Damages. In no event shall either party be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, revenue, data, or business interruption, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Privacy Policy {#privacy-policy}

1. What Information We Collect

Information you provide: name, email, shipping/billing address, phone number, and order details when you place an order or contact us.
Payment information: processed directly by Shopify Payments and, if you choose financing, by Affirm. Charging Solar does not directly store your full payment card details.
Financing application information: if you apply for Shop Pay Installments, information you provide is shared with Affirm to determine your eligibility. Their handling of that information is governed by Affirm's own privacy policy.
Automatically collected information: IP address, browser type, device information, and browsing behavior on our site, collected via cookies and similar technologies (see Cookies section below).
Communications: if you email us or contact customer support, we retain that correspondence.

Our shipping/freight partners, to deliver your order
Our manufacturing partner, to fulfill your order
Local installers, if you opt in to being connected with one — we'll only share what's needed for them to provide you a quote
Analytics and marketing tools Google Analytics, and Meta Pixel

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. Cookies

Our site uses cookies for essential site functionality, analytics, and (if applicable) advertising retargeting.

5. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal information, and to opt out of certain data sharing.

California residents may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).
Canadian residents have rights under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

8. International Data Transfers

If you're located in Canada, your information may be processed and stored in the United States, where Charging Solar and our service providers (including Shopify) operate.

Our site is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Shipping Policy {#shipping-policy}

1. Where We Ship

Charging Solar currently ships to all 50 U.S. states and Canada.

2. Production and Delivery Timeline

Your system is made to order. Expect 8–10 weeks from order date to delivery. We'll send status updates as your order moves through production and shipping.

3. How Your System Ships

Due to the size and weight of a complete solar and battery system, your order ships via freight carrier, not standard parcel delivery.

Delivery is typically curbside or to your driveway, not inside your home or garage, unless otherwise arranged.
Someone must be available to receive and sign for the delivery.
Moving components from the delivery point into your home/site and up to the roof is the responsibility of your installer, not the freight carrier.

4. Inspecting Your Delivery

Please inspect your shipment for visible damage before signing for delivery. Note any damage on the delivery receipt and photograph it. Contact us at info@chargingsolar.org within 3 days of delivery to report any shipping damage or missing items.

5. Address Accuracy

You're responsible for providing an accurate shipping address and ensuring freight access (driveway/road access for a delivery truck). Charging Solar is not responsible for delays or additional fees caused by inaccurate address information or inaccessible delivery sites.

6. Shipping to Canada

Canadian orders may be subject to customs duties, brokerage fees, and applicable taxes (GST/HST/PST) not included in the product price.

7. Lost or Damaged Shipments

Please contact us if a component is lost or damaged upon delivery.
