Solar & Battery Storage for Commercial Properties. One Honest Price.
The same transparent, factory-direct pricing model we built for homeowners — sized and positioned for the commercial properties that stand to benefit most: gas stations, retail pads, offices, and small-to-mid-size commercial buildings looking to cut utility costs and stay operational through outages.

Why Commercial Properties Are a Strong Fit
Commercial electricity rates are often higher than residential rates, commercial buildings frequently carry higher continuous loads (refrigeration, HVAC, signage, security systems), and a power outage doesn't just mean inconvenience — it means lost revenue. On top of that, the current federal tax picture genuinely favors commercial solar investment more than residential right now (see below).
Federal Solar Tax Credit — What's Actually Available in 2026
We'd rather give you the accurate, current picture than repeat outdated claims you may have seen elsewhere.
Residential: The 30% federal Residential Clean Energy Credit (Section 25D) expired December 31, 2025, with no phase-down or transition period. Homeowners purchasing a system in 2026 do not currently qualify for a federal tax credit.
Commercial: still 30%, but on a real deadline. The federal Commercial Investment Tax Credit (Section 48E) remains available at 30% for business-owned solar systems — but the rules changed in a way that makes timing matter right now:
- Projects that began construction on or before July 4, 2026 lock in the full 30% credit with a safe-harbor deadline of December 31, 2030.
- Projects starting construction after July 4, 2026 — which includes any commercial order placed today — must be fully installed and placed in service by December 31, 2027 to claim the Section 48E solar tax credit. There is no partial credit for missing that date.
- The battery storage portion of the system is on a separate, longer-running phase-down schedule and isn't tied to the same 2027 cutoff.
- This can typically be paired with accelerated depreciation (MACRS), which further improves payback timeline — ask your accountant.
What this means practically: given production, shipping, and installation timelines, commercial buyers who want to claim the 30% Section 48e of the Internal Revenue Code credit have a real, finite window to order, receive, and complete installation before the end of 2027.
Charging Solar is not a tax advisor. Eligibility depends on your specific project facts, including labor and domestic-content requirements. Confirm your eligibility and timeline with a qualified tax professional before purchasing.
Built for These Property Types
⛽ Gas Stations & Convenience Stores Offset continuous refrigeration and lighting loads that run 24/7. Battery backup keeps pumps, card readers, and coolers running through grid outages — a direct revenue protection, not just an efficiency upgrade.
🏦 Banks & Credit Unions Backup power for security systems, vaults, and ATMs. Operational continuity during an outage matters more for financial institutions than almost any other property type.
🍔 Drive-Thru Restaurants & Retail Pads Reduce peak-demand utility charges and keep drive-thru operations running when the grid doesn't. A single-tenant pad site is close to the ideal footprint for one system.
🏢 Office Buildings Meaningful offset against commercial electricity rates, which frequently run higher than residential. A visible sustainability investment for tenants and clients alike.
🏭 Industrial Buildings Support equipment loads and reduce exposure to peak-demand utility pricing. Larger industrial sites should plan for a multi-unit system sized to actual load — see "Right-Sizing Larger Properties" below.
🏘️ Apartment Buildings Offset common-area load (lighting, laundry, elevators) and add EV charging support as a resident amenity. Larger multi-unit buildings should also plan for a capacity assessment — see below.
Right-Sizing Larger Properties — An Honest Note
Our system is a single 12kW solar / 24kWh battery unit, sized to comfortably cover a footprint around 3,000 sq ft with typical single-tenant commercial loads — a similar scale to our residential system. For smaller commercial sites (a single gas station, one retail pad, a small office, a bank branch), one system is often a strong direct fit.
For larger properties — big-box retail, sizable industrial facilities, or apartment buildings with many units — a single system will not cover the full load, and we won't tell you otherwise. These properties typically need a multi-unit deployment sized to actual usage. Contact us for a capacity conversation, and we'll help you understand whether one system, multiple systems, or a different solution fits your building.
The System
